  1. Celebrate the " Year of the Rabbit " Chinese New Year  at i at 287 School Street.  There will be a performance of the "Lion Dance" on Sunday Feb. 13 at 2:30p.m.

This event celebrates the Chinese New Year which officially began on Feb. 3 with celebrations running through Feb. 15, when the moon will be in its brightest stage.  It is tradition to wear red, which symbolizes fire and is said to drive away bad luck. 

  According to a press release from the Asia Grill, "In China, the New Year is a time of family reunion. Family members gather at each other's homes for visits and shared meals, most significantly a feast on New Year's Eve. Children receive "lucky money" in red envelopes, which are called Ang Pao.

Legend has it that in ancient times, Buddha asked all the animals to meet him on Chinese New Year. Twelve came, and Buddha named a year after each one. He announced that the people born in each animal's year would have some of that animal's personality."

This is Chinese Year 4709  and is the year of the Metal Rabbit

2.The Seventh Annual Mansfield High School Cabaret Night show at 7:00 pm on Friday, February 11th and Saturday, February 12th  in Barbara Trombley Auditorium.    This Broadway and Hollywood themed evening will have you singing, clapping  and tapping your feet.

A dessert buffet is included in the ticket price of $10 for adults and $5 for children under 10 years of age. Tickets re available at the door.

3.Walking Warriors Relay for Life Team is  selling  Valentine's Day candy bouquets and Lindt chocolate bags wrapped and ready to give to your special someone. The team will be at two locations on Saturday, Feb. 12th. From  10am - 4pm they will be at in Mansfield Crossing on 280 School Street and from 3pm - 7pm. at on Pratt Street. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.

4. The Orphem Theatre on 1 School Street in Foxborough is presenting “Hairspray the Musical”
at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11 and Saturday, Feb. 12. A matinee show is Sunday, Feb 13 at 2 p.m. Treat your Valentine to this musical full of big hair and big fun.

5. Bill Love/Andy Jaffe Repertory Big Band will be performing at Wheaton
College
