GoFundMe Campaign Aims to Support Family of Matthew Cronin
Cronin was found dead Sunday morning in Mill Pond.

MANSFIELD, MA - Efforts are now underway locally to support a family who lost their son over the weekend.
This week, a GoFundMe campaign named “In Memory of Matthew Cronin” was created. Cronin passed away over the weekend and was discovered in Mills Pond in Mansfield.

“Any donation anyone can give is more than appreciated. We are trying to raise some money to help Matthew’s family with this tragedy. Anything helps. God bless. We love you Matthew,” fundraiser creator Kayla McCarthy wrote.

As of Wednesday night, the page has raised $6,547 with a goal of $10,000.
Saturday, the Cronin family told police that they had not heard from their son. A search through Sunday morning led police to Mill Pond off of East Street, with evidence suggesting that the victim fell through the ice.
The death is not considered to be suspicious.
