HarborOne President to be Honored
HarborOne Credit Union President and CEO James W. Blake is the honoree of the Brockton Boys and Girls Club annual gala
James W. Blake, President and CEO of , will be this year’s Honoree at the Boys & Girls Club of Brockton 2011 “Black Tie and Tennis Shoes” Gala on Thursday, May 19th, 2011 at the Shaw’s Center in Brockton.
HarborOne in Mansfield offers many services to the community, mostly in the form of HarborOne University. HarborOne U classes cover a wide array of topics, ranging from business enhancement tools and home ownership adivce for adults to allowence management and budget creation tools for children and young adults.
James W. Blake, President and CEO of HarborOne Credit Union, Brockton, MA, has played an important role in our community for many years. He has made a positive impact on the lives of many individuals and families through his efforts both at HarborOne and through the many nonprofit organizations which he supports. Among those directly affected are the young men and women of the Boys & Girls Club of Brockton.

Jim began his career in 1972 with the Atlantic Savings Bank of Chelsea, where he was the assistant auditor. Over the years, he held senior management positions at various financial institutions including the Provident Institution for Savings of Boston and Mechanics Bank in Worcester, where he was Senior Vice-President of Retail Banking and Marketing.
Jim graduated from Salem State College, with a B.S. in Business Administration. He is also a graduate of Bank Marketing School at the University of Colorado and the Graduate School of Banking at Fairfield University.

The value of personal commitment is evident in the efforts of HarborOne’s “Caring Crew,” an employee volunteer program that exemplifies Jim’s sense of community service. Serving as a role model for many, Jim serves on the YMCA’s Downtown Operations Task Force Committee and as Co-Chair of the Signature Health Care Executive Business Council Committee. He has also served in a number of volunteer positions in the community, including Chairman of the Board of the Brockton Hospital, past Chairman of the Brockton Housing Partnership, past Chairman of the Metro South Chamber of Commerce, as well as numerous other organizations. The board of the Boys & Girls Club of Brockton also gratefully recognizes the personal advice, guidance and support Jim has shared for many years, which helped the organization grow and flourish.
