Help a Mansfield Senior win a state scholarship

There are plenty of student-athletes in the halls of Mansfield High School deserving of recognition.

And one student in particular is close to receiving that recognition, thanks to the annual Hood Sportsmanship Scholarship Program. But she needs the community's help.

The $5000 Hood Good Sportsmanship Scholarship Award is presented to 3 college bound seniors from each New England State. The 10 students in each state with the highest number of votes move onto the final interview stage.

Mansfield's Emily Weiner, senior captain who has participated in four years of varsity swimming, discusses how being an athlete taught her the true value of how much hard work and dedication one needs to be successful and how success isnt solely defined by winning the race.

Residents are encouraged to vote for the winner now through April 22 at 3 p.m. Votes may be cast each day until the end of the voting period.
