Hundreds will Skate to the Sound of Jewish Music

On Sunday, Dec. 25 2011, from 2 p.m.-4 p.m., men, women and children from Massachusetts will converge on the area's ultimate celebration of - "Chanukah On Ice" at Winter Skate in Patriots Place, Foxboro.  Non-stop action and activities will provide a creative and educational Chanukah celebration for Jewish families.

The event is sponsored by the Chabad Center in Mansfield and expects to draw a large crowd. 

"The program is intended to bring the spirit of Chanukah to children and their families and instill feeling of Jewish pride," Rabbi Yossi Kivman of the Chabad Jewish Center and the event's coordinator said.

Open to the entire community, the event will include open ice skating, crafts and games and fun for the entire family. The Biblical hero of Chanukah - "Judah the Maccabee” will be on hand to distribute free dreidrels and chocolate gelt to all the children. Participants will enjoy skating to the sounds of Chanukah music and indulge in the tastes of the holiday. To add to the fun, there will a free Chanukah Raffle.

The highlight of the event will be the lighting of a giant menorah in the center of the rink.

Admission to Chanukah on Ice is $8 per person at the door or $7 if you Pre Reserve online and includes free crafts.

Ice skates are available for an additional $4 or participants can bring their own.

The Winter Skate Ice rink at Patriot’s Place is located at 2 Patriot Place Foxboro, MA 02035 next to Gillette Stadium. Free parking is available.
