Joe Andruzzi Foundation Raises More Than $160,000 Through 2015 Boston Marathon

(May 8, 2015 – Mansfield, Mass.) – The Joe Andruzzi Foundation (JAF) – an organization committed to providing help, hope, and a reason to smile for cancer patients and their families by contributing financial and emotional support – is pleased to announce that its Boston Marathon team has raised more than $160,000. The funds raised allow the Foundation to provide more than 225 grants to help cancer patients and families with everyday expenses, including rent and mortgage payments, utility bills and more.

Despite the harsh weather on race day, all 21 “Team JAF” runners crossed the finish line, culminating months of concentrated training and fundraising. Having trained through a fierce winter, the team was certainly well prepared for the elements on Marathon Monday. Runners physically and mentally prepared their bodies to endure the 26.2 miles all the while furthering the Foundation’s mission each step of the way.

“From the bottom of our hearts, we thank each of our Team JAF runners,” said Joe Andruzzi, President of JAF. “None of this would be possible without help from so many friends, sponsors and supporters. We thank you for believing in our mission, and supporting the cause. For Jen and I, the 2015 Marathon represented a theme closely aligned to our foundation’s mission - harnessing positivity to move forward and overcome adversity,” explained Andruzzi.
