Letters To The Editor: Vote For Neil Rhein for Selectman
Selectman candidate Neil Rhein has a letter asking for your vote.

The following letter to the editor is from Neil Rhein. If you would like to submit a letter to the editor, you can contact Mansfield Patch Local Editor Dan Libon at Dan.Libon@patch.com. Please note that letters for the Nov. 14 special election will not be accepted past Nov. 10.
I’m running for the Board of Selectmen for one simple reason: I LOVE the town Mansfield, and I want to do everything I can to improve the quality of life here.
My wife Theresa and I built a home here in 1995, raised two daughters in the Mansfield public schools, and have made so many great friends over the past 23 years.

So, why should you vote for me as your Selectman? Because I have a long track record of working with others to get things done and make improvements here in Mansfield.
For example, back in 2007, I saw that we had tons of litter and trash in Mansfield and that our downtown was a bit run-down.

So I took action, and I organized the first Great American Cleanup of Mansfield in 2008. More than 700 volunteers came out that year and every spring since then, hundreds of volunteers continue to participate in the annual cleanup.
Later, I recruited a team of dedicated volunteers and founded a new organization called Keep Mansfield Beautiful. Together, we have increased recycling at our schools, added flower barrels to downtown Mansfield, and beautified many other areas around town.
Over the past 10 years, Keep Mansfield Beautiful has brought well over $300,000 in volunteer labor, donations, and grants to the town of Mansfield.
If you vote for me as your Selectman, you can expect to see me collaborate with our existing board members, our school committee, and others, while also adding an INDEPENDENT voice to the Board.
You can expect me to be fiscally responsible. While we need to take a more proactive approach and grow our tax base, we also need to make sure we’re not spending more than we can afford. That’s how I run my own business and my personal finances, and I would apply that same approach to the taxpayers’ money.
I will listen to all sides of every issue and make independent judgments based on what I believe is best for the entire town.
I will bring new energy and a CAN DO attitude to move Mansfield forward.
I believe that my experience, temperament, leadership, and track record of actually getting things done here in Mansfield makes me the clear choice to be your next Selectman.
So please, mark your calendar and vote for me, Neil Rhein, on November 14. Together, let’s get things done here in Mansfield
