Lightning Strike in Mansfield Causes Garage Fire

Firefighters in Mansfield found themselves battling a garage fire after the structure was struck by lightning.

Mansfield fire told the Sun Chronicle that the garage, which is attached to the home, was hit by a bolt of lightning around 11 p.m. Saturday night. The flame from the lightning did burn the ceiling but did not reach the home. Fire crews were clear of the scene by 1 a.m.

Those inside the home were able to safely evacuate with only one child being evaluated for injuries at the scene.
