Local Woman Scammed by Man Collecting Money for Cancer

Sun., March 2

  • 2:14 a.m. Police issued a speeding citation toΒ Berkley woman for speeding on South Main Street. She was also given an inspectionΒ citation.
  • 4:26 a.m. Police were called for a loud party at the Red Roof Inn.
  • 7:06 a.m. Bradley Miller, of Pawtucket, was charged with operating after suspension, having an unregistered vehicle, and obscuring a license plate. A woman and two children in the vehicle were released.
  • 10:32 a.m. A woman on Bonney LaneΒ said someone broke into her home the night before.
  • 11:06 a.m. Four gift cards found on Paula Lane and Ware Street were turned into police.
  • 4:46 p.m. Authorities responded to an oven fire on Branch Street.
  • 4:57 p.m. A woman said she was scammed out of $40 from a person collecting donations for a friend for cancer treatment. Officers advised her to report the crime to Attleboro police since it happened in that community.
  • 5:14 p.m. A man on Gilbert StreetΒ called police after he said his father struck his dog.
