Maine Man Charged with OUI with Child in Car in Mansfield

A police investigation early Saturday morning on School Street near Route 140 has led to drunken driving charges for a man from South Portland, ME.

Julio Campoverde, 29, was arrested and charged his second operating under the influence of alcohol offense, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, child endangerment while operating under the influence of alcohol, and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle according to the Mansfield Police Log.

Police tell the Sun Chronicle that Campoverde was spotted by police while he was urinating outside his car. During the proceeding investigation, an empty bottle of tequila and an open bottle of beer were discovered in his car.

At the time, Campoverde was allegedly on his way home to Providence with his girlfriend and 1-year-old child.

He is being held on $2,500 cash bail and is will be arraigned in Attleboro District Court.
