Mansfield Man Wanted In RI Shooting Arrested

Rashawn T. Clark, 22, was located inside a Francis Avenue apartment.

MANSFIELD, MA — A man wanted in connection with a shooting in Central Fall was arrested in Mansfield early Wednesday morning. Rashawn T. Clark, 22, was taken into custody without incident, according to the Mansfield Police Department. He was charged with possession a firearm without an FID card (subsequent offense), possession of a large capacity firearm, two counts of possession of ammunition, and with being a fugitive from on a court warrant. Police were led to the Francis Avenue apartment where Clark was located following an investigation by Rhode Island State Police.

They learned that the apartment belonged to his aunt and when they arrived, Clark was found hiding in a bedroom closet. During the course of the initial search, police allegedly found a loaded firearm and ammunition in the bedroom along with additional ammunition of a different caliber.

Clark was arraigned in Attleboro District Court Wednesday and is due back in September. Once his legal proceedings in Massachusetts are over, he is expected to be extradited to Rhode Island to face the shooting charges. On March 5, Central Falls Police located two men suffering from gun wounds. During the investigation, Clark was identified as one of the two alleged shooters.
