Mansfield Actors Featured in 'Pied Piper'

The musical will be coming to Easton Middle School on November 20–22.

The Easton Children’s Theatre production of “The Pied Piper” features actors from Easton and surrounding towns, including (left to right) Kris Pushkar, Dylan Woodward, Brendan Robinson of Mansfield as Katzenspieler, Charlotte Collins and Arielle Sedman.

The musical “The Pied Piper” will be coming to the Easton Middle School auditorium, Columbus Avenue, on Friday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 22 at 2 p.m.

The story is a wild comedic take-off of the famous Grimm’s fairy tale. The town of Hamelin, Germany is being destroyed by an overpopulation of mice. The Mayor offers a thousand gold coins to the person who can rid the town of mice. The problem is there actually are no gold coins. After one ridiculous failed attempt by an outsider, the Piper, with the help of his magical muse, offers to do the job in the hope that once he is rich, the Mayor will allow him to marry his daughter. The Piper is successful in his attempt but then learns the promised reward does not exist. He then, in the middle of the night, lures all the children out of Hamelin and takes them to a fantastical place in the mountains. In this comedic version, there is, however, a happy ending for everyone. Even the mice.
