Mansfield Chocolate Factory Joins National Register of Historic Places

The building was nominated for the list earlier this year.

MANSFIELD, MA - The former chocolate factory on Oakland Street is now officially a historic place.

The building was recently added to the National Register of Historic Places by the National Park Service, according to the Sun Chronicle. The building was nominated earlier this year.

As implied by the name, the factory produced chocolate until 2009. The building is slated to be converted into a mixed-use project with 130 apartments, a 200-seat restaurant, 11,500 square feet of manufacturing space, and 5,200 square feet of office space.
