MANSFIELD, MA — The town is getting a couple new places to borrow books from. The Mansfield Crossing shopping plaza is installing two little free libraries for the community to enjoy. WS Development, who owns Mansfield Crossing, sent the proposal to the planning board last week to make sure the proposal didn't violate the mall's special permit

Little libraries are small shelves filled with books. People are invited to take a book to read for free or leave a book for others to enjoy. The Planning Board welcomed WS Development's plan, telling Mansfield Wicked Local, the little libraries add positive value to the community.

“It’s unique and for the benefit of the community,” Planning Board member Ralph Penney said.

The little libraries are expected to be installed in front of Ink'd and near Payless Shoes. A time frame for when the libraries will come has not been established yet.
