Mansfield Election Season Coming: Nomination Papers, Key Dates

Find out what positions are on the Mansfield ballot in 2019.

MANSFIELD, MA — Starting Feb. 1, town election season officially opens. Candidates can then withdraw nomination papers for the Mansfield town election on May 14.

Voters will have plenty of decisions to make with 5 positions up for a vote on the May ballot. Candidates have until March 26 to file nomination papers and until April 11 to withdraw them. Per state law, candidates must get at least 50 registered Mansfield voters to sign their nomination papers.

The following positions will be on the ballot. All carry a term of three years, except Town Moderator which has a one-year term.

  • Select Board: Michael Trowbridge's and Steven Schoonveld's terms are expiring.
  • School Committee: Lynn Cavicchi's and Linda Fernando's terms expire this year.
  • Town Moderator: Robert H. H. Saquet's term will expire.

In order to vote in the 2019 town election, Mansfield residents must be registered to vote by April 24.
