90 Minutes Needed to Free Driver in Truck Crash on I-95 in Mansfield

Crews from Mansfield and North Attleboro about 90 minutes to free the victim of a 40-foot box truck rollover.

MANSFIELD, MA - Firefighters needed roughly 90 minutes to free a driver from a 40-foot box truck that crashed into the woods near Interstate 95 in Mansfield.

At about 8:33 p.m. Tuesday night, Mansfield fire responded to a tractor trailer crash on Route 95 South. When fire crews arrived at the scene, they found a truck just south of exit 6 that rolled into the woods with an entrapped driver.

Mansfield fire needed assistance from the North Attleboro Fire Department and about 90 minutes to free the entrapped driver. A total of three engine and two rescue vehicles were at the scene, according to Mansfield fire.

No hazardous materials were reported, but photos show several packages of bottled water on the highway.

The driver was then transported by Mansfield Rescue 35 to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
