Mansfield Fire Responds to Rumford Avenue Blaze

Police have blocked off a portion of the road.

MANSFIELD, MA — A portion of Rumford Avenue was blocked off to traffic following a report of a fire at a home on the street.

A little past 5:30 p.m., Mansfield fire responded to 102 Rumford Ave. for a report of a working fire inside the kitchen. While the fire was knocked down, the town's electrical inspector and the Red Cross were called to the scene, according to the Mansfield Fire Department.

Police are providing assistance and are rerouting traffic around a blocked off area of the street.

Fire and police crews left the scene a little after 7 p.m.
