Mansfield Fire Saves Ducklings From Storm Drain

MANSFIELD, MA — A group of ducklings stuck in a storm drain were saved by firefighters in Mansfield.

Friday morning, Mansfield fire responded to a confined space rescue at the storm drain in front of Wines and More at Mansfield Crossing, Upon arrival firefighters observed a group of baby ducklings stuck in the storm drain with the mother duck standing nearby and frantically pacing.

With assistance from the Wines and More staff, Mansfield police, and the animal control officer, the ducklings were successfully removed from the drain in three trips and reunited their mom, who led them to safer territory.
