Mansfield Getting at Least $152,000 in Snow Removal Reimbursements
The funds will cover snow removal costs from the Jan. 26-27 blizzard

Mansfield will receive some financial relief for last January’s blizzard.
Town Manager William Ross told the selectmen Wednesday night that the Federal Emergency Management Agency has approved federal reimbursements for the town according to the Sun Chronicle. The reimbursement includes $152,000 in snow removal costs and Mansfield could obtain up to another $53,000. Another $94,000 in compensation could come from a supplemental state budget, according to Ross.
After the record breaking storms last winter, the state allowed local towns to create a special fund for snow removal costs that could be paid off in three years. Ross said the town set aside $125,000 for excess snow expenses, but the town chose to pay off the amount in cash.
