Mansfield Man Faces Charges In Stoughton Crash That Killed Couple
Prosecutors said the suspect started a race with the victims and video taped them crashing into a tree before speeding away.

STOUGHTON, MA — A Mansfield man faces charges, following a crash on Plain Street eight months ago, which killed an engaged couple.
Matthew Peter, 27, was charged in Stoughton District Court on Thursday with two counts of vehicular homicide and several erratic driving charges connected to a May crash, which killed Angela Goodrich, of Stoughton, and Michael Luddington, of Kingston.
According to prosecutors, Peter, on May 5, started a race with Luddington's pickup truck, which led to it crashing into a tree, the Brockton Enterprise reported. Court documents revealed Peter taped the crash on video with his cellphone and sent a voice mail to his girlfriend, telling her about the crash minutes after. According to police, Peter sped away after taping the crash. Peter's father, Lawrence Peter, 57 was also charged Thursday with impeding a police investigation, the Enterprise reported. Prosecutors said Peter's father saw the video, but neither brought it up to law enforcement until police came to their house eight days later.
