Mansfield Man Faces Multiple Charges from Alleged Armed Robbery

MANSFIELD, MA — A Mansfield man faces multiple charges stemming from an alleged armed robbery.

Shamell Ford, 25, of Mansfield, was arrested July 29 and charged with armed robbery, breaking and entering a building in the nighttime for a felony, conspiracy to commit a break-in in the nighttime, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, possession of a firearm for a felony, carrying a firearm without a license, and possession of a Class E drug, according to the Mansfield Police Log.

Police say that early Thursday morning, a man on Warren Street went into his backyard to talk to three men. Ford allegedly came out of nowhere, pointed what looked like a semi-automatic handgun at the man, and demanded everything he had, according to the Sun Chronicle. The victim refused and went back into the house.

Ford was arraigned Friday in Attleboro District Court and ordered held on $1,000 bail. He is due back in court on Aug. 22.
