Mansfield Man Gets 15 Years For Child Rape, Porn Conviction

Register sex offender William Koury pleaded guilty to possession a large amount of child pornography and child rape.

MANSFIELD, MA — A Mansfield man was sentenced to time in prison after being convicted of child rape and dissemination of child pornography.

The Bristol County District Attorney's office announced Monday that William Koury, 35, pleaded guilty last week to five counts of possessing child pornography, disseminating child pornography, rape of a child (aggravated by age), rape of a child, and indecent assault and battery on a person under 14. He was sentenced to serve 15 years in a state prison.

Koury, a level 2 sex offender, was arrested in December 2012 following a child pornography investigation by state police. A state trooper was able to download a video montage of 2 to 4-year-old girls being raped and trace the target IP address back to the defendant.

A search of the defendant’s home turned up child pornography on several devices, including a laptop, thumb drives, CDs and cameras. Investigators later office found several images of child pornography that had been captured with the cameras seized from the defendant. The two children seen in the images on the defendant’s camera were later identified.

Both children were later interviewed. Although one of the girls would not make any disclosures, the second young girl revealed that the defendant had taken pictures of her and had put his fingers in her vagina numerous times, the DA's office said.

When he is released, Koury will be on probation to 10 years and must under go mandatory sex offender counseling. He also cannot reside in a home with minors, have no unsupervised contact with children, have no employment or volunteer work that puts him in contact with children, have no contact with anyone involved in this criminal case, must submit to GPS monitoring, and no loitering or residing with 300 feet of a school.

Koury was previously convicted in 2008 for indecent assault and battery on a person under 14 and was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in jail.
