Mansfield Man Involved in Fatal Route 1 Crash

Wrentham, MA — One person is dead after a crash on Route 1 in Wrentham.

At about 2:30 p.m., state police responded to a report of a crash between a motorcycle and a vehicle on Route 1, north of Thurston Street. A preliminary investigation indicates that a 46-year-old man from Mansfield traveling west on Thurston Street in a Subaru Outback turned onto Route 1 North, attempted to take a left turn across the adjoining northbound travel lane, and collided with a Victory Cross Country motorcycle.

The operator of the motorcycle was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead, police said. His passenger was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.

The operator of the Subaru and his three passengers were all uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under police investigation.
