Mansfield Man Robbed in Taunton While Trying to Buy Percocet: Police
Police say $1,500 was taken from the man at gunpoint.

MANSFIELD, MA — A Mansfield man who traveled to Taunton to buy black-market Percocet pills was robbed at gunpoint, police said.
The 41-year-old victim told police that he gave the gunman $1,500 and his cell phone after the suspect and an accomplice entered the backseat of his car, according to the Taunton Daily Gazette. A 19-year-old Norton man in the vehicle was also robbed.
The victim told police that the cash was from unemployment insurance.

Police believe that 19-year-old Jamal I. Alves is the assailant. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
