Mansfield MBTA Commuter Rail Fare Hike Few Weeks Away

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority decided to up their by an average of 9.3 percent across the system.

MANSFIELD, MA - In only a few weeks, it's going to cost a little more to take the train from Mansfield to Boston.

On July 1, rider fares across the MBTA will rise about 9.3 percent across the board. This is lower than a 9.77 percent hike option originally proposed, with additional concessions on students prices and a decrease in cash fares for a single bus ticket.

Per a press release from the MBTA, here what the hike means for Mansfield and the Providence/Stoughton line. All prices are one way to or from Boston.

  • Commuter Rail Zone 1A (South Station, Back Bay, and Ruggles) - $2.25
  • Commuter Rail Zone 1 (Hyde Park) - $6.25
  • Commuter Rail Zone 2 (Route 128) - $6.75
  • Commuter Rail Zone 3 (Canton Center and Canton Junction) - $7.50
  • Commuter Rail Zone 4 (Stoughton and Sharon) - $8.25
  • Commuter Rail Zone 5 $9.25
  • Commuter Rail Zone 6 (Mansfield) - $10.00
  • Commuter Rail Zone 7 (Attleboro and South Attleboro) - $10.50
