Mansfield Middle School Hires New Principal

MANSFIELD, MA — David McGovern was officially named principal at Qualters Middle School after serving almost a year in the interim. McGovern served as assistant principal since 2015, but was asked to fill in the role of principal after Suzanne Ryan left the role last June.

Ryan, who before becoming principal taught social studies at Horace Mann Middle School in Franklin, decided she wanted to return to the classroom.

McGovern was chosen by Superintendent Teresa Murphy, along with the help of a search committee made up of parents, administrators, and teachers. The committee's next job will be to hire a new assistant principal.
