Mansfield Native Back in Jail After Arrest While Celebrating Release

Derek J. Beatty was arrested early Tuesday morning at the Catman Cafe.

Mansfield, MA – Well that didn't take long.

A Mansfield native who was at the Catman Cafe celebrating his release from jail is back behind bars after getting arrested at the Mansfield establishment

Derek J. Beatty, 35, currently residing in Attleboro, was sentenced in Attleboro District Court to six months in jail for a previous conviction of violating a restraining order, according to the Sun Chronicle. The case was filed on the condition that he avoid any new charges for six months.

Early Tuesday morning, Beatty was kicked out of the Catman after a bartender cut him off. Police were called after he refused to leave.

Police allegedly found the wallet of a 63-year-old who was sitting next Beatty at the bar. He pleaded innocent to larceny from a person, disorderly conduct. and disturbing the peace
