Mansfield Native to Play in Arena Football League Championship

Are you ready for some Arena League Football? You should if you are a Mansfield Hornets supporter.

Saturday night, Mansfield native Tom Gilson will compete in Arena Bowl XXVII for the Cleveland Gladiators against the Arizona Rattlers.

A 2007 graduate of Mansfield High School, Gilson was a captain for the Hornets and earned Hockomock and Sun Chronicle All-Star honors before playing college football for the University of Massachusetts.

In the Eastern Conference Championship, Gilson brought in three receptions for 25 yards and a touchdown in the Gladiators’ 56-46 win over the Orlando Predators.

The Gladiators will take on the Rattlers on Aug. 23 at 8 p.m. in Cleveland. The game will be shown live on ESPN.
