Mansfield Police Investigating Racist Graffiti

The graffiti that used a racist term was discovered Sunday morning.

MANSFIELD, MA — Police in Mansfield are investigating a racial slur that was found over the weekend.

Sunday morning, police responded to a report of graffiti at the corner of Shawmut and Columbus Avenues. Upon arrival, police found a derogatory word for African Americans written in a liquor on the ground.

The area was cleaned by the Department of Public Works, according to the Sun Chronicle.

Since the Presidential election, acts of racial and religious harassment has become more common, according to the Southern Poverty Center. In Attleboro, racist graffiti was found in a high school bathroom and in Milford, someone delivered newspapers from the Ku Klux Klan to multiple homes.
