Mansfield Police Log: RI Man Charged with 16 Counts of Larceny, Stolen Tires, and More

February 26

12:55 a.m. - A 20-year-old male from Foxborough received a summons during a traffic stop on Route 140 North for operating with an uninsured motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with suspended registration, and operating without an inspection sticker.

1:29 a.m. - Stephen Renda, 29, of North Attleboro, was arrested near Buffalo Wild Wings on School Street and charged as a fugitive from justice on a court warrant.

6:08 a.m. - A woman on Bonney Lane told police that her four tires were stolen off her car.

7:22 a.m. - A 30-year-old male from North Attleboro at the intersection of Jameson Court and Mill Street was taken into protective custody.

10:49 a.m. - Juan Torres Canales, 35, of Pawtucket R.I., received a summons on Maple Street for three counts of larceny under $250 and 13 counts of larceny over $250.

11:29 a.m. - A 25-year-old from Mansfield received a summons for assault and battery on a family/household member, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, aggravated assault, and witness intimidation

11:46 a.m. - Loss prevention at CVS on Chauncy Street reported a larceny of $1,000.

February 27

1:43 a.m. - A 24-year-old male from Mansfield received a summons during a traffic stop on School and Plymouth Streets for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with suspended registration, and operating without an inspection sticker.

2:07 a.m. - A 44-year-old male from Mansfield at Buffalo Wild Wings on School Street was taken into protective custody.

12:04 p.m. - Abu Askia, 38, of Mansfield, was arrested at the intersection of School and West Streets and charged with failure to stop/yield and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, subsequent offense.

3:53 p.m. - After a vehicle went off the roadway and struck the median at the entrance of Mansfield Crossing, the driver, a 32-year-old from Foxborough, received a summons for operating a motor vehicle negligently so as to endanger.

February 28

12:48 a.m. - A 15-year-old was arrested and charged with assault and battery on a family/household member.

11:06 a.m. - During saturation patrol at the intersection of Chauncy Street and Highland Avenue, three summons were issued. A 38-year-old female from Brockton was charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, driving without a license in possession, and speeding in violation of a special regulation; a 48-year-old male from Mansfield was charged with operating with a revoked license as a habitual offender and speeding and a 44-year-old female from Mansfield was charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle

February 29

2:52 a.m. - A 25-year-old female from Mansfield received a summons on Chauncy Street for operating a motor vehicle with revoked registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
