Mansfield Resident Recognized by Jimmy Fund Golf

Mansfield resident Bill Lawrence recognized for efforts with Jimmy Fund.

The following was submitted to Mansfield Patch.

More than 150 volunteer run tournaments were recognized by the Jimmy Fund on Feb. 16, at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s Yawkey Center for Cancer Care, for their commitment to the Jimmy Fund Golf Program.   By organizing golf tournaments, they helped raise nearly $6.5 million in 2011 for adult and pediatric cancer care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through Jimmy Fund Golf, one of the nation’s oldest and largest charity golf programs.

Shown being recognized for their outstanding efforts are (from left to right): Mike McKnight of Wrentham, Mass., Bill Lawrence, Scott Haley of Marshfield, Mass., Juan Carlos Vivas of Stoughton, Mass., and Arthur Marquis of Framingham, Mass., with Jimmy Fund Director, Suzanne Fountain. McKnight, Lawrence, Haley, Vivas, and Marquis helped organize the Stop & Shop/Donovan-Carlson Memorial Jimmy Fund Golf Classic at The International Golf Club in Bolton, Mass. The tournament was recognized as a top fundraising tournament, raising more than $415,000 for Dana-Farber in 2011.
