Why do you want to run the Boston Marathon?

After running the Marine Corps Marathon in 2013, I knew that Boston was my next on my bucket list. I trained for Boston in 2014 but was sidelined by an injury seven weeks before my dreams were put on hold!

Why did you choose to run with the Joe Andruzzi Foundation team?

I lost my father to cancer when I was 12. I was the youngest of four girls and my mother worked full time while caring for my dad throughout his illness. A foundation like the JAF during that time would have been so helpful to my family. The JAF’s ability to provide financial assistance to families and their contributions to ongoing cancer research is incredible!

How did you overcome the difficulties of training through the winter?

Someone once said to me they have a love/hate relationship with running. My reply was I don’t have that relationship, I always love running and the gifts it gives me. I may not always have a great run but I still love it.

It has been a really tough training winter, the patients and their families have much tougher conditions than this weather could ever be! I step out the door with a confidence in my step and know that this is about something so much bigger than just snow or sub zero temperatures!

Any training tips?

Believe that you can do it and others will believe you can too!
