We asked Patch readers what they thought the biggest safety issues were in their town. Here’s a list of the most pressing problems, from break-ins to traffic jams:

  • "Intersections by Honey Dew and the lights at 106/140 intersection. Trying to pull out of my neighborhood onto 106 a few blocks from the train is almost near impossible as well, seen a lot of near misses."
  • "Heavy populated Business Area on Main Street. Cars allowed on both sides of street. Leaving no adequate room for two cars passing on each side. Thursday evening thru Sat is the worse."
  • "Not sure it's the biggest issue in town, but the intersection of Chauncy and Copeland Sts needs left turn arrows."
  • "Bars staying open until 2 am. I think there is a lack of good police patrolling after midnight on Main Street and preventing people that should not be getting into cars at 1 or 2 a.m."
  • "The second entrance of Mansfield crossing needs a light."
  • "Signage at crosswalks to yield to walkers."
  • "East Street in the school zone. People speed there constantly! There is occasional police notice, but not enough to deter speeding. I think people use it as a cut through to avoid traffic and lights on 106."
  • "The lights near Kohls crossing over 140. You get a green arrow to go left and the other side has green light to go straight."
  • "Speeding around the center and down residential roads. Everyone is in a rush. I got hit by a car while walking near the Looking Glass Cafe."
  • "Chauncy and Copeland making left needs green arrow"
