Mansfield Schools to Start Before Labor Day

Mansfield students will return to school before Labor Day this fall and get out in mid-June pending the use of snow days.

The school committee approved the 2015-16 calendar on Tuesday, replicating a move by many school districts in the area to start before the holiday.

Teachers will return to school on Sept. 1, with grades 1-12 starting classes the next day. Kindergarten and preschool will have their first day on Sept. 8.

Winter break will last from Dec. 24-Jan. 1, February break will take place from Feb. 15-19, and the April break will occur from April 18-22.

Seniors will graduate on June 5 and everyone else will end school on June 15 if there are no snow days. June 16-22 are listed as the designated snow days.
