Mansfield Selectman George Dentino Passes Away

Dentino lost his fight with major head trauma and passed away Thursday morning.

MANSFIELD, MA — The most senior member of the Mansfield Board of Selectman has died.

Selectman George Dentino lost his fight with major head trauma and passed away Thursday morning, board Chairman Michael Trowbridge confirmed Thursday. He was hospitalized about a month ago after suffering a serious fall.

"The family is grateful for your thoughts and prayers and support they have received during his illness. I can say George was bigger than life. A crusader, a man on a mission. A man who was at times relentless, during a period that Mansfield needed it most. He spoke out for the working man and had only one agenda, to do what he thought was best for the Town of Mansfield. He will be sorely missed by us all, and on behalf of the Town of Mansfield and the Board of Selectmen, We send our condolences to Pam, George's children Jamie and Lance, his family, and friends," Trowbridge said in a statement.
