The $7.5 million, 21-month project is set to include brand new pedestrian ramps, stairways to allow platforms to be accessible for inbound and outbound passengers, and replacement of the existing mini-high platforms, which are currently in poor condition with compliant mini-high platforms. Two temporary platforms are to be installed by construction contractor Barletta Heavy Division Inc., while the existing mini-high platforms are replaced in order to maintain public access, according to MBTA.

To help with the lack of parking the town is providing added free parking at the County Street lot in Foxborough. A shuttle will be available from the lot to the train station during commuter hours.
