Mansfield Truck Crash Leaves 2 Seriously Injured

MANSFIELD, MA — Two people suffered serious injuries after a box truck struck a guardrail and bridge support beam on Interstate 495 South at the Route 140 overpass Saturday.

Around 12:30 p.m., Mansfield and Norton firefighters were dispatched to the crash and found the truck turned on its side. Traffic was backed up from the Interstate 95 exit to I-495 until the truck could be removed from the road.

The two people in the box truck were rushed to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.

This is the second single-truck accident on Interstate 495 in Mansfield in the last two months. On Oct. 9, a truck carrying salad dressing struck the same bridge support, which spilled the dressing all over the road.
