Mansfield to Vote on Delaying Marijuana Law
If passed at Town Meeting, there would be an 18-month moratorium on the sale of recreational marijuana.

MANSFIELD, MA — Voters in Mansfield will have their say on whether the town should delay the implementation of laws that allow for the sale of recreational marijuana.
The selectmen voted Wednesday to place an article on the Annual Town Meeting warrant that calls for an 18-month moratorium. Supporters of the delay say it's needed to figure out zoning issues and the uncertainties of marijuana sales, according to the Sun Chronicle.
According to Town Manager Bill Ross, the moratorium would start as soon as it is passed. Full legalization does not start until mid-2018.

Medical marijuana, which is zoned for sale in the Cabot Business Park, would not be effected.
