Mansfield Wiz Kids Have HS Quiz Show Opponent

MANSFIELD, MA — Mansfield High School's quiz team knows who they will face in the opening round of WGBH's High School Quiz Show.

Mansfield will face Philips Academy of Andover in the round of 16. The showdown will air March 10 on WGBH 2. This will be the ninth season of High School Quiz Show and Foxborough's first appearance.

Contestants will be quizzed on current events, general knowledge and Massachusetts high school curriculum standards in subjects including literature, history, science, and math.

The winner will advance to the quarterfinals and face the winner of the Bay State Conference showdown between Wellesley and Natick.

The winner of the tournament moves on to an interstate Invitational, featuring WGBH's High School Quiz Show state champions competing against New Hampshire PBS' Granite State Challenge state champions, the High School Quiz Show: Rhode Island state champions and the High School Quiz Show: Maine state champions for the final title.

High School Quiz Show begins taping at WGBH in January. It will premiere Saturday, Feb. 3 at 6 p.m. on WGBH 2.
