A Mansfield woman faces charges after allegedly crashing an SUV into a pole while drunk.

MANSFIELD, MA — A Mansfield woman faces charges after allegedly crashing an SUV into a pole while drunk.

Casey L. Burns, 21, pleaded not guilty in Attleboro District Court to operating under the influence of alcohol in a crash involving serious bodily injury and neglect, operating a motor vehicle negligently so as to endanger, speeding in violation of a special regulation, and driving with an open container of alcohol, according to the Mansfield Police Log.

At about 1:29 a.m. Monday, police responded to a report of an SUV that struck a utility pole on James Street. One passenger was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with a cut above her eye and another passenger was not injured.

Burns pleaded not guilty during her arraignment in Attleboro District Court, according to the Sun Chronicle.She is due back in court on Feb. 14.
