The Mansfield Hornets were out to prove that their South Sectional Championship & Mass State runner up team trophies were no flukes.
Mansfield Youth Wrestling program left no doubt in anyone's mind that they are for real by placing four wrestlers in the finals of the toughest tournament in New England.
William Stratton, Joseph Plath and the Holmes brothers, Vincent & Nico all fought their ways to the New England Championships Finals. Vincent Holmes was the lone title winner for the Hornets.
A characteristic of a good tournament team is depth. The Hornets have put together a streak of 3 tournaments where all the wrestlers won matches that contributed to the team's success. Mansfield Hornets were once again at the top of the N.E. Championship leader board after the first day of competition.
