New Stats: Opioid Deaths in Mansfield Flat

The state's Department of Public Health has released new data.

MANSFIELD, MA - The state's Department of Public Health has released new data on deaths caused by opioid overdoses.

During 2015, Mansfield had two confirmed deaths caused by an opioid overdose. The total the same as year's total of seven. In 2013, there were four confirmed deaths.

In Bristol County, deaths have increased from 138 in 2014 to 146 last year. Since 2000, there have been an estimated 976 deaths from opioids.

Middlesex County has seen the most deaths on a county level with 293 last year and 1,966 since 2000.

The data doesn't include the amount of Narcan used or the number of overdoses reversed through using the life-saving medicine.
