New Mansfield Town Manager On The Job

Kevin Dumas started his new job as town manager Tuesday morning.

MANSFIELD, MA — On the first workday of the new year, Kevin Dumas traded in his mayor title in Attleboro for a town manager job in Mansfield.

Dumas started his new job Tuesday morning and was sworn in by Town Clerk Marianne Staples during a department head meeting.

Dumas comes to Mansfield following an election defeat to state Rep. Paul Heroux. He told the selectmen during his interview that has no plans to run for elected office again, declaring that part of his life over. On the switch from mayor to town manager, Dumas says he understands the differences in his new position.
