No Bail For Woman Accused Of Mansfield Bunny Masked Robbery

The woman accused of robbing gas stations in Mansfield, Attleboro, and Providence while wearing animal masks was ordered held without bail.

MANSFIELD, MA — The woman accused of robbing a Mansfield Cumberland Farms and convenience stores in Attleboro and Providence Rhode Island was ordered held without bail after her arraignment in Providence District Court Thursday. Ashley Weaver, 28, of Providence, was charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault with a firearm, illegal possession of a firearm, resisting arrest, fugitive from justice, disorderly conduct, and firearm violation with a prior violent crime charge. Weaver is being held until her next court date on June 27 and will face additional charges in Attleboro District Court at a later date.

According to Mansfield police, Weaver robbed the Cumberland Farms on Chauncy Street around 12:25 a.m., on May 24. Police said Weaver stormed the store, pulled a gun on the clerk, and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the register.

On May 20, police said Weaver also robbed Mobil gas station on Newport Avenue in South Attleboro and shot the store clerk during. The day before, police said she robbed a Gulf Station in Providence. Weaver wore a monkey mask during both robberies, according to police.

Weaver was arrested in Providence last week, following a two-week joint investigation between Mansfield, Attleboro, and Rhode Island State Police. Police said they found her leaving her Providence home and pulled over the vehicle she was in. After a violent struggle, Weaver was taken into custody, police said. Police said they found a gun that matched the description of what was used in the three armed robberies, a bunny mask, and other evidence linking Weaver to the crimes.
