Norton Man Charged in Mansfield Hit and Run, Faces 5th OUI
Police arrested Scott Cotterill and charged him with his fifth drunken driving offense, driving with a revoked license.
From the Mansfield Police Department:
At about 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, officers were called to the intersection of Route 140 and West Street for a reported hit and run. The caller stayed on the phone with Mansfield Public Safety Dispatch and followed the suspect vehicle down Route 140 South and into a parking lot on Norfolk Street.
Det. Armstrong arrived and with the assistance of Officer Martell, began investigating the accident. The operator of the vehicle that was struck was transported by Mansfield fire to Sturdy Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
As a result of the investigation, the operator of the suspect vehicle, Scott Cotterill, 52, of Norton, was charged with the following:

- Operating under the influence of intoxicating liquor (OUI), 5th offense,
- Operating with a revoked license for OUI
- Operating negligently,
- Leaving the scene of an accident, personal injury resulting,
- Possession of an open container
