One Dead in Early Morning Crash on Mansfield-North Attleboro Line

A crash near the North Attleboro-Mansfield town line has left one woman dead and many injured, authorities say.
Sunday morning, state police responded to a four-car crash near exit 5 on Route 95 North. According to a preliminary investigation, a 27-year-old from Revere driving a BMW lost control of his vehicle and hit a Ford Explorer. The collision caused the Explorer to roll over into the median while the BMW became disabled in the travel lane and was struck by a Lexus driven by a 25-year-old from Dorchester which was hit by an Audi S5 operated by a 32-year-old male from Revere.
One occupant in each vehicle was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. A 65-year-old female passenger in the Explorer was pronounced dead at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.

The five occupants of the Ford Explorer were transported to area hospitals. The identity of the deceased female is being withheld pending family notification.
The right two lanes of 95 North were closed for over six hours, according to police.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No charges have been filed.
