One Dead in Early Morning Mansfield Crash

One person was killed early Sunday morning when their car struck a pole and a stone wall on West Street.

The accident was reported at 4:30 a.m. after multiple 911 calls were received for an accident on the street according to Mansfield Fire.

An early investigation shows that the operator lost control of the vehicle while entering Mansfield from North Attleboro. The vehicle then left the road, hitting a large rock and a telephone pole.

Upon arriving to the scene, public safety officials discovered heavy damage to the vehicle and operator who was deceased.

At this time, the named of the driver is being withheld. The accident remains under investigation.
