Paving Around Downtown Mansfield Underway

Find out the schedule and how long the process will take.

This week, road repaving began across Mansfield. Below is the schedule according to the Town of Mansfield:

The Mansfield DPW-Highway Division has scheduled the repaving of North Main Street (East/West Street to Chauncy Street), Thomas Street, Old Colony Way, West Cottage Street (from North Main Street to Old Colony Way) and Court Street (approx. 300 ft. past bike path).

Phase 1

Milling begins on Sunday, April and will be done at night from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. The work will take three nights. This phase involves milling approximately two inches of the existing asphalt surface. This work may involve both traffic detours and delays.

Phase 2

Full depth repairs of potholed area on April 6 and 7. This will be done during the day.

Phase 3

Asphalt leveling is tentatively scheduled for April 10 and 11 and will be done at night. This phase involves the placing of an asphalt leveling course of pavement.

Phase 4

Adjust castings will be done during the day and is tentatively scheduled for April 13 and 14.

Phase 5

Final paving will be done at night and is tentatively scheduled for April 27 and 28.

Upon final paving, the road will have a five-year “no dig” moratorium.
