Police Chase Alleged Shoplifter from Mansfield Crossing to I-495

MANSFIELD, MA - An Attleboro man faces charges for allegedly stealing from a department store in Mansfield.

At around 1:37 p.m. Tuesday, police received a report of a shoplifter running from Kohl’s at Mansfield Crossing to the area around the shopping center and Route 140. After responding, police learned that the suspect had begun to shed his clothes and possibly change his appearance.

While searching the near Route 140 and Interstate 495, another suspect at Mansfield Crossing was detained after a foot chase through a wooded area near Kohl's and the highway. The suspect was taken into custody on Interstate 495 near exit 12, police said.

During the search, police recovered evidence and merchandise from the store.

One party will be summonsed to Attleboro District Court while the second suspect, Shane Dossantos, 25, of Attleboro, was arrested and charged with shoplifting over $100, resisting arrest, and disturbing the peace.
