Police Log: Dog Sneaks Into Home, Shoplifting, and More

September 14
12:27 a.m. - After a car crashed into a guardrail near Mansfield Gas and Service on Chauncy Street, police arrested and charged Gregory Fournier, 39, of Mansfield with operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and a marked lanes violation.
12:56 a.m. - A loud outside party was reported on Francis Avenue. The calling party stated that the party woke his daughter and himself up and are throwing beer bottles around outside.

An officer reported about 20 people at the party. Shortly later, the officer reported that party was broken up, everyone was out out the house, and heading home.
4:13 p.m. - A caller on Smiley Avenue reported that a stray beagle walked into his residence and laid down on the couch. The dog was returned to it’s owner who lives down the road.

September 15
2:05 a.m. - An officer checked with two males at the train station. They stated they were waiting on a train to Boston.
3:23 p.m. - Police received a report of shoplifting at Kohl’s. After arriving at the store, police arrested Amy Murad, 23, of Whitman with a warrant and charged her with larceny over $250.
A summons was issued to a second person for shoplifting by asporation.
